11/22 - Due to recent patches of the Microsoft Office, some users may encounter an error when uploading Excel files through the eSmartPayroll FSET software. We suggest installing 'Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable (32 bit)' or the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
-Make sure to use the x32 version and NOT the x64 version, regardless of your system specs.

I. INSTALLATION GUIDE

In order to install eSmartPayroll's California FSET Software, you will need (1) .NET 2.0 Framework and (2) Visual J# Redistributable Package.

(1) .NET 2.0 Framework is available from the Microsoft website or the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1639
-Click 'Download', put a checkmark for the .exe matches your system and click 'Next' to download  then install.

(2) Visual J# Redistributable Package is also available from the Micosoft website or the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4712
-Find the 'package' matches your system and click the link to download then install. Do NOT use Version 2 of the Package, use the original version listed.


Once you have installed both (1) .NET 2.0 Framework and (2) Visual J# Redistributable Package, proceed to install eSmartPayroll's California FSET Software.

-To install,
1. Unzip/extract the .msi file using an unzipping program
2. Click the eSmartFSETSetup.msi file to start the installation
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software

II. HOW TO USE THE SOFTWARE

Once you have installed the FSET E-File Software, you can start
to send test files using the demo version right away. However,
you need to have a license key from our company, eSmartPayroll, to
use the production version of the software. You can purchase
the license key by following the link in the software under SetUp.

Use "File", "Open" from the top menu bar to open your data
file in either MMREF or ICESA format, the software will review
the data, display the summary and detail information of the file.
You can then choose to efile the data to the EDD directly through
the Internet.  You will receive a receipt confirmation from the
EDD, but the acknowledgement may have to be retrieved a few hours
later.
